At IES, we offer the following Machining and Fabrication services:

Our Machining and Fabrication center is ideally equipped as a one stop source for most any fabrication or repair need. Located in Fort Nelson, B.C. and Ridgefield, WA, our facility includes over 12000 square feet of covered work areas. Our large bays include three 10 ton overhead bridge cranes, 6 overhead fixed, linear, or pivoting cranes, as well as a 10,000 pound in ground hoist. Our bays can accommodate oversized machinery or equipment in sizes up to and including 20 feet in width, 21 feet in height, and 60 feet in length. Larger items can be accommodated outside through the use of a 10 ton crawler mounted crane.

Our hours of operation are as unique as our services. We work the late shift, to keep you running on the day shift. Catering to those requiring after hours service, and repair; our shop is open from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 A.M. Pacific time Tuesday through Saturday. We are closed all day (and night) Sunday, and Mondays. We can be reached via Email support@iesonline.cc, or Voicemail (360) 887-0702, or by Fax (360) 887-1930 anytime 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

While most of our clients send files and information via the Web or Fax, we are happy to accommodate drop in visitors to our facility. If the job is short enough that we can complete it in a few hours, you are welcome to visit our private trout pond. We provide bait and tackle so you can catch (or catch and release) one of trophy sized rainbow trout. This is a delightful way to spend time while you wait.

Oxyfuel or Plasma automated cutting.

Plasma Cut Grill

Using state of the art optical and computerized equipment we can custom burn parts from a wide range of metals. Stainless, copper, brass, aluminum, cast iron and steel parts can be plasma cut in thickness' from gauge metals up to 1 1/4 inches thick. Steel and alloy plate can be cut using Oxyfuel in thickness' from 1/4 inch up to 10 inches. We consider these machines to be HOT MELT MILLING MACHINES since they allow us to economically produce smooth edged, slag free parts from steel plate to very close tolerances. Many complex parts that would ordinarily be produced on milling machines, or huge drills can be quickly burned out from plate steel at a fraction of the cost and time of other processes. We can work from hand drawn templates, computer generated files, or even a simple sketch to produce parts to your specifications in any quantity. Examples of some of the products that can be flame, or plasma cut are:

Manual metal flame cutting.

In applications where materials cannot be machine burned, we can provide quality manual cutting in a wide range of materials. We have the capability of hand cutting using Oxyfuel or plasma torches, or motorized hand torches and track burners. We also provide air arc, or slice torch cutting for difficult applications.

Manual and machine welding.

Welded Stainless Steel pump housing

We are capable of welding, brazing, and torch soldering most metals; including all mild and alloy steels, stainless, copper, aluminum, magnesium, titanium, brass, and cast iron. Hard facing of steels for improved impact or wear protection, and building up of worn or damaged components is easily accomplished by using our automatic machine welders, and positioners.

Metal lathe operations.

Typical lathe part

Turning, facing, boring, grooving, internal and external threading of parts to your design specifications or supplied sample part is easily accomplished. We utilize a variety of CNC controlled and manual lathes depending on the complexity of your part.

Milling operations.

Mill Part

We use an assortment of CNC machines in both vertical and horizontal formats with 4th axis rotary tables to perform a wide range of materials. Some secondary operations and simple parts are run on our manual machines which are of course equipped with power feeds, and digital readouts for smooth, accurate cuts, in all types of materials.

For line boring, and oversized milling operations we are equipped with a large, 38,000 pound horizontal boring mill.

Drilling operations.

Radial and floor drill presses are available for small and large hole drilling needs. For oversized parts, or holes we have all the tooling necessary to perform these operations on our mills, lathes, and burning machines as well.

Hydraulic Press operations.

We are equipped with a 140 Ton hydraulic press with a 7 foot stroke x 52 inch width to handle most forming, die cutting, bending and stretching needs.

For sheet work we have a 60 Ton by 6 foot width press brake.

Artwork in Metal.

If you are looking for something truly unique, special, or creative but don't know where to go, let us help! By integrating imagination and creativity with our computerized burning machines, we can produce custom metal art from solid sheets of metal plate in several different choices of materials and thickness ranges. By providing us with an idea, or rough sketch we can create your design for less than you would think. When combined with our fabrication services we can provide the most beautiful gates, doors, tables, signs, logos, or pictures imaginable. You might be surprised to find for example that a custom designed gate costs about the same as a run of the mill mass produced gate. Just think, when you give directions to your home or business, you can tell everyone it's the gate with the city skyline, jagged mountains, or portrait, or.... Use your imagination. We can metalize your thoughts with exceptional precision and originality. Your creative options are virtually unlimited.

Here are some ideas from projects we have "metalized" in the past.
